Al-Kul Art Space
Brand identity and creative development for AL-Kul, a community art space in City Heights, San Diego, developed through a collaboration between The AjA Project and Abundance of Youth (AOY) Collective.
THE CHALLENGE
The goal was to create a visual identity for a community art space serving immigrant communities, many of whom were Arabic-speaking. The challenge was to develop branding that reflected the cultural backgrounds of the community while establishing a distinctive identity for a collaborative, youth-centered creative space.
THE SOLUTION
I developed the visual identity for AL-Kul, incorporating Arabic-inspired motifs and visual elements that paid homage to the cultural heritage of the communities the space served. Alongside leading media design for The AjA Project, I served as the creative liaison between both organizations, helping manage the art space, coordinate events, and develop interactive and illustrative art projects that encouraged community engagement.
